At one time in the Uni­ted Sta­tes, black peo­ple did not have the same rights as white peo­ple. They could not go to the same scho­ols as whi­tes, or eat in the same res­tau­rants, and when they took a bus they had to sit at the back. That was called “racial segre­ga­tion”. Rosa Parks was an Afri­can Ame­ri­can who had to live with this unfair tre­at­ment... until one day she had had enough...
